Forgive Him

9 September

“If another follower sins, warn him, and if he is sorry and stops sinning, forgive him.  If he sins against you seven times in one day and says that he is sorry each time, forgive him.”  (Lk 17:3–4; NCV)

Do you happen to know anyone who carries a grudge; a person who whenever someone does them wrong they remember it forever even though forgiveness has been asked?  When I read these verses, I have to remind myself, God would not have us do something that he would not do.  If God held a grudge, where would we all be?  We should praise him because he doesn't hold anything against us.  Whenever we sin, all we have to do is return to him and ask forgiveness, and he is willing to open his arms wide to welcome us home.  He always forgives those who call upon him.  That's a great and mighty God, a wonderful, loving Father

So, forgive as God has forgiven you.

  1. Forgiving isn't as hard as forgetting.

    1. you are right -- it is not. Takes a lot of prayer and we may never fully forget but the power it has over us should go away -- that dwelling on it time should go away.
