Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. (1 Cor 13:8; NIV)
One member of the bridge club was wearing a gold locket on a chain around her neck. "That's lovely," another player said. "Do you keep a memento in it?" "A lock of my husband's hair," replied the first woman. "Oh. But your husband is still alive." "Yes," said the first, "but his hair is gone." (Ohio Motorist)
Isn't it great to know that even though everything else passes away or leaves, love will never fail! Some things pass away so slowly that we don't even realize it at the time. I use to weigh a lot less than I do now. The good weight has passed away (I'm working on resurrecting it). I use to have more hair than I do now. My hair passed away over time also, not to the point that my wife keeps some in a locket. Seasons come and go, and so do friends. All of life is a change, but there is one constant; love. More specifically, God's love! You see, God loved us before we knew what love was, and he will love us through all eternity. That's a long time. It's because of his love that I don't worry about what is to come. He has always taken care of me, even before I knew he was doing it. That's love. Just remember, love, true love, the love God has for his children will never fail. It's that kind of love we need to be showing to each and every person we come in contact with. Share some love with those you meet today.
